About us

Regal Confections is one of the leading distributor of global confectionery and chocolate brands in Canada.

Regal Confections

Regal Confections was founded in Montreal in 1962. Primarily an importer of European confectionery, the company quickly grew by adding packaging, marketing and product development divisions.

After six decades of confectionery market leadership, Regal Confections evolved as the exclusive distributor of some of the industry’s most prestigious brands.

Regal Confections is specialized in the distribution of nostalgic candy brands such as Tootsie Roll, Dubble Bubble, McCormicks, PEZ, Rockets and more. Strengthened by its innovative seasonal range, Regal Confections markets a wide range of licensed products such as Disney, Lucasfilm, Emoji, NHL, Mattel, Marvel, MGA, Nickelodeon, Universal, DreamWorks and Illumination.

The company has over 300 employees, dedicated to the success and growth of the business. Operating four distribution centers, the company’s customer base consists of warehouse club, wholesalers, grocery stores, drugstores, convenience stores, mass merchants, dollar stores, and specialty independent stores.

In addition, the company manufactures peanut-free and nut-free chocolate products in Quebec under the "Chocolat Jean Talon" brand as well as under private label and licensed brands in Canada and the United States. The company also distributes imported gourmet foods through the "Euro-Excellence" division and its gourmet gift basket creations through the "Sweet Expressions" division.

Today, Regal is pleased to announce the acquisition of "Kisko Products", the market leading freeze pop manufacturer in Canada, as well as "Tosuta International", an importer and distributor of candies, throat lozenges, and chocolate.

Certifications

Food Safety and Quality Assurance are at the heart of Regal Confections’ mandate. This mandate has encouraged the enterprise to obtain various quality assurance and hygiene certifications that suit each plant’s individual needs for food safety within the Canadian marketplace.

GDP – Good Distribution Practices:

Practiced at our 3 distribution centers, these guidelines ensure the safe storage and distribution of all of the products that Regal Confections distributes across Canada.

GMP – Good Manufacturing Practices:

Sweet Expressions, sister company to Regal, Red GMP certification with HACCP plan. Products created by Sweet Expressions, reflect the quality of the food products used and comply with Canadian safety regulations for all children’s toys/items that are included in the finished products.

BRC – British Retail Consortium:

The Berlier and Jean-Talon production facilities are GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) recognized through BRC certification. All GMP & HACCP procedures are followed as well as an extensive verification of each and every food item, food contact packaging material and toy/container through Certificates of Analysis. The Demand for food safety is growing, consumers and authorities increasingly demand that the food we eat offers high levels of quality and security. This level of certification requires the food supply chain to take stringent measures from the manufacturing of each and every product, to the placement of said product onto the retailer’s shelf.
